A/V Sync
I know the issue of Lip Sync has been covered a lot. However i wanted to ask a slightly differen question. I have an Onkyo TX-NR609 which has a Lip Sync option (appears to do nothing) and an option to delay the sound for a specific HDMI input. If i delay the sound and get the AV to sync on an SD channel (V+ box) then this isnt going to be correct for an HD channel, due to the extra time it takes for the amp to process the HD video. I also noticed that if i get Discovery HD in sync then when the programme changes it suddenly goes out of sync (Possibly due to upscaling on some programes and not on others?)
Any ideas on how i should set this up?

I've got the Onkyo 605 it sets the audio sync during the mic set up.
Mine is fine on both SD and HD.

Mic set up is all about setting the speaker levels and it doesnt use an HDMI input signal during that process.
I notice you have Tivo. Did you ever have a Scientific Atlanta V+ box?

Re: A/V Sync
I've got an eye and an ear for these things and geting lip sync right is a bit of a nightmare, on sky movie channels i have managed to get it bang on using a setting of 11ms on my Yamaha, but i was watching city match on sky sports last night and neville and gullit where synched perfectly, but during the match i could clearly hear them kicking the ball before i saw them do it... also ITV HD is a pain, sometimes it's really off and sometimes it's not... Re: A/V Sync
Yeah I noticed the live football was out of sync last night I think it was just last nights game though. Wasn't like it when I watched the Man United Wolves match.
