Most of the time I'm accused on this forum of being over optimistic. What I'm saying is even if home-produced content becomes cheaper, it doesn't make content and hardware costs for us Brits any cheaper. That's not politics it's economics. So we need to understand the squeeze that pay-TV companies will face alongside the increased sports rights costs etc.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016) Vol 2
All these new channels coming just shows what they can do when they pull their finger out.
Will it now be enough to counter the growing competition though?
Saw an advertisement last night for free broadband, Now TV @ £9.99 and Phone @£17.99

Not looked into it in any great detail, but VM charge the same for line rental and charge for their broadband.
But if you don't need a landline and as you pointed out, you can get Now TV vouchers a lot cheaper off eBay etc, then it probably is poor value

I assumed that this was the schedule for a V Festival pop up channel, but, apparently, it's the normal schedule for MTV Live HD tomorrow.

Must admit I was a bit disappointed with the new NOW TV box and their new line up of packages. It was getting a big build up but didn't live up to the hype.
The reason I'm not impressed with the deal on their website is because you can get the same equivalent package from other sources for cheaper. I'm about to go into price comparison again!
The offer on their website is £9.99 per month plus £17.99 line rental for the new NOW TV smart box, entertainment pass, line rental and uo to 17mb broadband. Keep that for a year and it'll cost you £335.76.
Argos are selling the new NOW TV smart box for £39.99 which includes a 5 month entertainment pass. Argos also sell a 5 month entertainment pass separately for £25.00. I'm sure in store they sell a 2 month entertainment pass for £10.00. I know you can get the passes cheaper elsewhere however from Argos the new box and 12 months entertainment comes to £74.99. There's a whole host of companies offering free 17mb broadband for 12 months with line rental at around £17.99. SKY's line rental is only £17.40 per month which is cheaper than the NOW TV line rental. The cost of taking 17mb broadband and line rental from SKY for 12 months, plus everything else from Argos, comes to £283.79 for the first year. Almost £52.00 cheaper than getting it directly from NOW TV.
Okay so the total outlay to Argos of £74.99 is pretty steep, especially if you pay it all up front. Here's where the really good news kicks in. SKY are giving you a £75.00 pre-paid Mastercard to take their free 17mb broadband and line rental for 12 months. Bingo that's the new NOW TV smart box and 12 months entertainment covered courtesy of SKY. This reduces your total first year outlay to £210.00. We're now looking at £126.00 cheaper than the NOW TV website offer.
Crazy!!!

Told someone about this and they said that there is no such channel number as 81 on TV Anywhere
Never used it myself.

You're better off asking about the TiVo update in the dedicated thread:

Apparently, what's happened is that MTV Live HD has been made available on channel 100 for the benefit of all VM TV subscribers, whereas MTV Live HD remains on channel 311 for customers in the XL package only.
It's not available on TV Anywhere.
You'd think that they would simply have temporarily downgraded the subscription required for channel 311 or put the reduced subscription version in the 900's like they do with pop up channels
Do we know what channel number Spike will go onto?
A+E Networks will launch a FTA channel called 'Blaze' on the 20th September according to Broadband TV.
I wonder if we'll get this as the new FTA channels that pay TV providers are creating to rinse the last bit of revenue out of their content are now appearing on VM (apart from YourTV).
