Club statement says surgery was very successful and a period of intensive care is now under way.

I pretty much forgot there was a world cup happening soon. Seems to be relatively underhyped

Was in the ground. Also nice that Ferguson got a nice reception before the game when the club wished him well and then another one when Wenger did the same in his farewell speech

Re: Season 2017/2018
l am glad Wenger got a decent home farewell and when someone like Sir Alex is seriously ill thankfully tribal rivalry goes out the window.

Re: Season 2017/2018
Just watching EL CRAPPICO. endless petty fouls, diving, play acting.. Bale should have been off the pitch by now as well.
Granted some great goals though.

Re: Season 2017/2018
Yeah, I think VAR is going to be a shock for a lot of La Liga players next season.
Hopefully Ronaldo is recovered in time for the CL final, it would be weird without him. Ankle sprain but didn't look too bad in the replays.

So much for cracking down on the persistent cheats of football Jim.

Re: Season 2017/2018
If Pardew got manager of the season for that 5th place finish with us then Dyche should be in with a decent shout. At the same time you've then got to credit Pep with the way City ran riot this season. Then there's Klopp but his defining achievement this season is non domestic.
Its a hard choice overall. I don't think the others - Benitez etc are in with a shout.

Re: Season 2017/2018
Just watching that Watford game again, I didn't think anything of Dummet giving away a penalty until now. Didn't even realise it but he misses the ball, doesn't stick a leg out on the player so doesn't come close to bringing him down, Andre Gray slips a few milliseconds after Dummet goes down and falls on top of Dummet and penalty. Ey? I mean it was saved by Dubravka but christ the quality of refereeing this season has been one of the worst in recent memory for me. Obviously they didn't score from it, we still lost and its a mute talking point but it shouldn't be. It should be remembered for the horrible decision and to add to the season overall rather than just a bad decision against us.
