MSN Messenger isn't working either.
Do they not have back up units for instances like this?

google itself is working for me, but mail.google.com isn't. yahoo not at all. bbc intermittently
other sites seem ok

Same story in South Manchester - no access to bbb.co.uk or google.co.uk from NTL, both working through my Vodafone 3G datacard (only time in comes in handy).

Thankfully a friend has supplied me with his own non NTL dns servers and all is fine

I don't use ntl's dns servers and still have problems. Also, the proxy servers use ntl's dns servers, not yours
