You can thank the illegal downloaders for that In part, at least.
Other possible reasons are that a. they can't show them all at the same time and b. possible contractual obligations.

Even if a show is cancelled it still doesn't stop you from enjoying what there is Firefly and Journeyman spring to mind. If they didn't show them so close to US broadcast they would likely not even get shown over here. Or at they very least take a very long time before they made it over here.

There seems to be an unwritten rule for US shows that goes if it's appealing to British tastes it gets cancelled PDQ. I'm still wishing there were second series of Rubicon and Flash Forward. Rubicon was especially intelligent which is probably the kiss of death as far as the US network suits are concerned.

I liked Persons of Interest, cancelled after 1 season. Hasn't Alcatraz been cancelled too?
Does anyone know when SKY 1's fly on the wall documentary about Gregg's the Bakers starts? I do like a Mexican Oval Bite and a Sausage, Cheese and Bean melt. I just hope it isn't tacky or lowbrow, you know a really half baked idea

It wasn't cancelled. S2 is airing in the states and C5 have screwed up the showing of S1 over here.

And yet it still just about manages to be better than when Sky appeared to have channels called "sky onc", "sky tuo" and "sky thrcc".

Slightly off topic anyone thinking of getting a 2nd tivo box for streaming dont bother,150 programs and i can only stream off 17 eps of hart of dixie on the reality channel. The streaming restrictions are worse than the ipad and i really didnt think that was possible,Really poor vm.Another coming soon i assume

And, as I said in that thread, it's not entirely VM that's to blame for this.

I agree that the number of channels is pathetic, but I don't altogether blame VM.
VM/we have paid for this content to record and view on two or more Tivos. Why are VM prevented fron streaming legitimately paid for content from box to box?
It's about time OFCOM did something usefull and ordered the content providers to stop putting completely unjustified restrictions on such services. The content providers are completely crazy; they should be encouraging services like this for people who have actually paid for the content, because if they don't, the effect is to 'p' people off, who will download illegal copies for free, and stick them on their NAS drive, so they can watch them anywhere, on any device of their choosing.
The world has moved on with regard to how and where people watch content, and the content providers are penalising those who are actually prepared to pay. Crazy.

True but they have had considerable time to strike agreements so some fault does lie with them.

Then perhaps you should think twice before making further "genuine comments" that come across as antagonistic, either intentionally or unintentionally.

I agree. Much as I think OFCOM should get involved, VM know the rules as they currently stand, and have had plenty of time to sort agreements out.
Covert Affairs is the only show that I can currently take advantage of MRS on.
