Latest news from my insiders.

Nothing about any new channel to replace Diva
There are some positive changes happening to On Demand from Tuesday. Bit complicated to summerize (but obvious once people get them)

And the point l have been saying all along, l am happy with what l have, VM is cheaper than Sky and has free ESPN, Its phone service is very good, the only thing that spoils it, is that the network is not challenging Sky in the channels market.
Its not a whinge but a fact that customers do not like Tivo for the reason that l have mention, and why bring out a better box, until the they fixed problems on the first one.
Its like buying a Rolls Royce without the engine

So only one actual thing rather than most of TiVo doesn't work? and it's not actually what you think it's what other people are saying? Hmmm
Who says a new box is coming?? Red button does work on TiVo, the apps for the channels need written first by sky and the bbc.

This has been discussed so many times.
Those who want/need Red button, stay with V+. Those who don't mind it being absent go with Tivo.
Releasing Tivo without red button hasn't delayed it any longer for those who want red button, but has given users who don't care as much about red button, the great Tivo functionality earlier.

I know that it appears VM are working with Tivo on a more interactive red button/multi-channel service (especially for the Olympics), but there is plenty of frustration with Tivo users on having to wait for this.

Just to reinterate a point here (sorry)
It's mostly got nothing to do with VM or TiVo. It's down to the content providers as to whether TiVo gets apps or not, as is shown by the fact that there has been an iPlayer app on TiVo since launch.
What was needed (and added in the last update) I believe was a way for the TiVo apps to manipulate live streams, rather than just access internet video.
EDIT: Sorry for any duplication of other people's posts

That is being too pedantic, red button takes you to on-demand only, not the services it used to provide and customers are wanting and still waiting since Tivo launch.
Prepared to wait myself but it is starting to feel too long now, patience only lasts so long!

We are talking of features like multi-channel viewing like Wimbledon here and of course Football.
It is an obligation of VM to provide the services customers want if theu want to be competitive in the market place and had before the introduction of Tivo. Without those Tivo will be seen as a joke product by many customers I feel and out of step with their competitors, how wonderful Freeview is e.g. I enjoy selecting final score on the BBC via red button on Freeview on Saturday afternoons.
These are just basics VM need to work with those providers to just catch up. Can't believe this need to be justified.

Completely agree it needs to be provided.
Virgin and TiVo can do as much as they can with the box, but if the content providers don't do their part then nothing will change.
By the looks of what the BBC are proposing to do with the TiVo apps, once they launch you'll then be very annoyed that Freeview is so limited in what it can offer

Well everybody is entitled to their opinion as we live in a democracy but as l said before there are some excellent things to come to the Tivo in the coming few months and all people need to be is a little more patient as it will blow many other boxes limited functionality out of the water.

Understood, your last comment is why I am prepared to wait. I actually see great potential of what Tivo can do on interactive services and Internet based content access as well.
It is just starting from nothing right now which is frustrating!

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 1
We have taken to swapping with the old V+ & only using the Tivo as the spare & as the lights are always on it gets switched off .So much for progress!

Thought that was for the end of day results only, not from 3pm. Forgot about 187 so will check next time, thanks!

This is why Tivo customers feel Tivo was actually a step backwards in this area and VM/Tivo should have developed up front for launch as a minimum capability just to keep the service the same as current products.
I know that it appears VM are working with Tivo on a more interactive red button/multi-channel service (especially for the Olympics), but there is plenty of frustration with Tivo users on having to wait for this.
We know the update before Christmas was to enable such services so the red button could be introduced at any time, but VM needs to catch up stillin key areas and the red button service is one of those (also concerned about iPAD app which seems to have slipped into "some time" in 2012).

I hear that we will get BBC Red Button services soon on TIVO
