Re: Brighton Slow Again

he shouldnt have a shub, he is on 10mbit.

Type 192.168.100.1 in your browser and when it asks for a password it is "root". You need to copy and paste the downstream, upstream and configuration info.

delete your mac address and serial number and post the info we asked for. I might be paranoid but I am thinking you are doing this to annoy us. Last week you told somebody they needed to change their mtu size on the shub which made me think you knew what you was talking about.

Re: Brighton Slow Again

where do you live. I cant believe you are on QAM64 and QAM16. Anyways, your downstream power and SNR are low which is probably what is causing your rubbish speed all the time.

Re: Brighton Slow Again

downstream power levle is ok, could be a bit higher and closer to 0 but it should work fine liek that, snr is borderline but i think since it qam64 it can be a low as 30 it lower than qam256

upstream power levle is little ont eh low side to

Re: Brighton Slow Again

doh! should have read that.

double doh! because upstream is QAM16. I thought mine was QAM64 for some reason.

Forgetting the student problem everyone is harping on about, you would have thought that if VM knew the area was over congested they would have made the uplift work a priority and got everyone on QAM256.

I am not trying to annoy anyone.

I did not tell anyone 'they needed to change their 'mtu' what ever that is.

Fair point but 'flippant remarks all the time' is a little ott.

So its all right to put "He's clearly incapable of opening a web page. Leave him be."

But its not alright to respond with 'So kind what goes round comes round'

It is ok to be bitching about someone bitching then ?
