Electric Motorcycle ?
Does anyone know if any electric or hybrid motorcycles are for sale in England ? Anyone know when or if the VentureOne will go on sale in the UK ?
I'd like to buy an electric motorcycle that can do about 70 MPH and also last about 50 miles on one charge. Any ideas ?
BTW what's the law for driving one of these things ? Do you just need a standard motorcycle licence ? Oh and what about those learner drivers ?

Re: Electric Motorcycle ?
I don't think it would make a difference to the licence rules and would still have to fall into the same catagories (i.e.. below 11KW for young learners, 25Kw for restricted and no limits for full/DAS holders

I believe anything above 250W requires a licence.
This one can be driven on a CBT

I bought myself a 150cc chinese leaning enclosed trike, it manages about 80mpg but only does 50 mph flat out. I would of like an electric scooter like the Vectrix but they are too costly, my chinese trike cost £1020 on the road.

Ah, but don't forget that she'll be about 24 years older now!

I've not passed my test yet. I've failed the observation part of the theory test twice, but will be trying again very soon.
I've got a Chinese 125cc Honda CG clone/copy at the moment. Chinese bikes look the part, but just aren't as good as the originals. It's cheap to get to work on though.
BTW i didn't know electric bikes were exempt from road tax. I'll have to look for some reviews for that Vectrix scooter. I would still love one of those VentureOne bikes though.

This link shows the Vogue trike that I have, and also a rather slow electric scooter. If there was a cost effective electric scooter with reasonable top speed (50mph) and range I would of taken that route instead of the petrol trike. I must admit the trike attracts a lot of attention though.
