Yeah yaeh, joking aside, I see it at just another attempt to try and keep the English ( stroke ) British, public down, trying not to upset the Irish/ Scotish and Welsh ( in no particular order ) is BS in the highest form, why don't they just say, " we don't want to offend any non-British " or British of non british decent who want to live here but want their own rules, don't even get me started, I'm all for equal rights but ............. like I said, don't get me started.

But if you read the thread, you will find that the story was made up. They can play whatever they like. It's The Mirror trying to create tension of the sort you describe by making these stories up. Now there's something that gets me angry...

Sorry matey, just skimmed it, if thats the case maybe some high up solicitor should bring a case of creating racial tension against these tabloids, all they are IMO is **** at best, after all, what good can / could come of half the crap they publish, except for selling papers

Re: England songs banned by Radio 1

But hang on, Radio 1 is a national station that is picked up in Scotland and Wales (and parts of occupied Ireland)

Would you Sassenachs be happy to hear the French soccer songs on radio?

No, because France isn't part of the UK. I wouldn't have a problem with Scottish/Welsh/Irish football songs on radio though.

Are they any good? Do they have an equivalent of Neil et Christine 'amilton? At least 'Fields of Athenry' and 'Flower of Scotland' are bloody good songs, I'll have them any time, particularly if the alternative is Chris Moyles. Or Coldplay. Or that bloody awful woman singing about punk rockers with flowers in their hair - if you tried to put flowers in John Lydon's hair he'd kick your head in - spit in their hair would be more accurate. Bah.

I seem to have digressed.
