"One benefit from all these changes is that it is unlikely that BSkyB will raise prices this coming September."

Yipee! Time to put on the old SKY tinted glasses

The real thing is that sky seem to conduct all their negotiations really quickly and without fuss, their customers usually aren't left speculating for months (years even) everything seems to be available to them.

They might freeze prices, as a reaction to BT

Somehow l cannot see prices being frozen as they will want to claw back some of the huge amount of money they have paid out for rights to the PS.

Isn't that stating the obvious Dave ? I'm pretty sure a bar of chocolate costs more today than it did 5 years ago. Pay TV's new customers are generally becoming harder to find , companies like Talk Talk are having great success with their cheaper tv offerings tempting Freeview users to upgrade , it could be argued that Sky will experience its most challenging time as competition grows from the likes of BT , Talk Talk , Netflix , Lovefilm , VM etc , not a wise time to introduce large price increases.

Sorry MM but you can bet your bottom dollar that prices will rise even if its through the back door and l think its naïve to think otherwise.

Sky froze their prices two years ago. you make it sound like they increase £3 each year. On that basis, that would mean they increased by £15 in last 5 years. Pretty sure that isn't correct
