Read about the Labour party millionaires who rub shoulders with the elite.
And they claim to know what the working class want.

They all seem to like owning rather a lot of property too don't they. Bliar has clearly taught them well. You know when you see them prancing around with their red rosettes proclaiming their working class sympathies and hear them slamming the greedy rich at every opportunity on you'd never guess they're just as bad. Worse I'd argue - they're utter hypocrites who despite constantly berating greed and privilege, clearly don't mind enjoying quite of lot of it themselves. The more the merrier in fact.
These people have about as much in common with and empathy for ordinary folk as the most extreme caricature of a gentrified toff. The only difference is that the toff doesn't pretend to be something he/she isn't.

They have a name, apparently: "Prosecco progressives".

I prefer Bollinger Bolsheviks...
Of course there are myriad other terms for them, mainly adjectival expletives.

Re: Islington MP suffers culture shock in Rochester
You have to hand it to Labour though. Today should have been all about how the Tories lost another seat to UKIP. Instead, the political news has been dominated by how the Labour front bench is stuffed with out of touch, patronising Islington lefty-liberals.

Is this Milliband's "bigoted woman" moment? I doubt that Labour will make any real changes to appeal to white van man before the election.

Re: Islington MP suffers culture shock in Rochester
Labour ceased to be a party of the working class with New Labour. They fought for the centre ground and became a pseudo-Tory party.
Also the demographic of the country has changed, there is isn't much of a "working class" left anymore.
Labour is now the party of the public sector, and the non-working class.

Miliband's still busy digging holes.
http://order-order.com/2014/11/21/mi...e-a-white-van/
Sky: What goes through your mind when you see a white van outside a house?
Ed: What goes through my mind is respect.
Sure it does, Ed. Sure it does.

Re: Islington MP suffers culture shock in Rochester
My husband (staunch Tory) and I (Ihateallpoliticians) listened to this and turned to each other saying storm in a teacup rubbish.
I have frequently bemoaned my various neighbours displaying huge St George's flags, multiple St George's flags and their white vans blocking my access..and displayed images of these incidents.
I can't imagine a more British pastime than complaining about our neighbours anyway.
7 more months of petty political point scoring to come. Sigh!
