on demand services go black and white?

as above :

i have had a nice box installed within the last 2 weeks as the old one had problems with VOD with the sound skipping now nearly every on demand service i watch the picture goes black and white
when i pause and unpause the pic goes back to colour but shortly after the pic goes black and white again
i only have a cheap 14 inch TV would this be the problem? i have another TV that was given to me which is far better than my current tv which i havent installed yet?
is this a known problem if so can it be fixed?

Re: on demand services go black and white?

Your TV is being affected the Macrovision copy-protection that's used on most VOD content. This is only meant to affect the colour on VCRs, but for some reason your TV is sensitive to it. (You're not feeding the signal via a VCR, are you?). You'll probably find the other TV works fine.

Out of interest, what STB model did you have before, and which do you have now?
