Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
In case people haven't watched the episode yet, I won't actually put any name of who has gone from the Apprentice tonight. However, with the 2 in the final I really couldn't give a toss about who wins. Worst 2 candidates in the whole process. Still, if Lord Sugar wants to be an idiot with this show then let him. Don't think I will bother watching Series 11.

Personally l detest this programme and would rather watch a soap then watch that rubbish.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
The wee one is nagging me to keep him off school tomorrow as it's the last day and he does not see the point in going and I quote his words were what's the point in going and you are no longer at work so where is the hassle in me being off Mum. Is it so wrong of me to send him to school on the last day or am I just too strict.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I would send him in weenie.
Used to get the same argument from our son and, to me, letting him stay off school just because he considered it a waste of time wasn't a lesson I wanted him to learn.
I always made the last day of term a reason to celebrate with a special evening meal and he would get to choose what we would eat. It must have been a credit to my culinary skills that he invariably chose Shepherd's Pie with red cabbage. Well either a credit or maybe he decided that was one choice I wouldn't burn.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Yeeha Drew will be going to school tomorrow, after a long discussion with him he now is aware he needs to go although I did fib to him I told him the Head teacher could withdraw him from the China trip and I would/could lose my deposit if I kept him off school for no reason. Well it was just a wee white lie but it worked. Goodness me I need a cuppa after that as I have never experienced any of my boy's wishing to stay off school on the last day before and was shocked by this request to say the least.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Both lanes of a local road were blocked by a van sitting diagonally with the engine running. Lots of drivers were getting very annoyed (loads of honking and yelling).
Then an ambulance arrived... the van driver had passed away at the wheel.
It took the police a further 35 minutes to turn up and eventually sort the traffic out.
Why is it always the police that arrive last at most incidents I've witnessed?

In this case they were probably contacted by ambulance control once the ambulance was already enroute.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Where I grew up there was a narrow bridge on a trunk road which was a regular accident scene. The bridge was also right on the border between the counties of Powys and Gwynedd.
When there was a crash the ambulance and fire crews came from the Dyfed-Powys area (about 3 miles), however the police attendance came from North Wales Police, who's nearest station was a good 20 miles away.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I don't drive, but this would have wound me up as a passenger, but there is a T junction in the next road to mine, where a road joins the main road through the town. This morning, the main road was blocked (as it is most mornings), but only one way. Someone in a Corsa wanted to turn right (the direction that was blocked). So, they decided not to wait politely behind the line, therefore allowing traffic going the other way to proceed. Nope, they went right out into the main road and stopped in the middle of the lane, thus blocking it. With a few minutes, that lane was blocked solid as well. All because a Corsa driver decided they were going to try and push their way into the traffic.
The ironic thing is, had they fired up a Sat Nav or bought a Map, they would have found a route using back roads that would have avoided the main road totally, and would have actually got where they were going quicker without disruping anyone else.

What a terrible thing to happen to the Van driver. His family will be devastated. If the rest are blocked in traffic, You are still alive, Think about it,

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
The manager and one of the nurses at mums care home. She's got maybe a few days left and they are the most uncaring people I've ever met. I was shaking with rage this morning, but she's too ill to move so all I can do is suck it up and try and bite my lip.
Cheers
