Micro Simcard
Hi,
I have a contract with VM for my phone and got a free phone with it.
I am going to be ordering a new phone, but it needs micro simcard.
Does anyone know if there is a charge for a micro simcard, with my current number?
How do I go about getting a Micro simcard from VM?
Thanks

Re: Micro Simcard
Could you let us know if what turns up is a true micro sim or a nano sim in an adapter as this issue arose in my MotoG thread.

Re: Micro Simcard
When I had my VM sim a few weeks ago it was a micro-sim but they included a normal and mini adapter and it fits in my S3 perfectly.

Re: Micro Simcard
VM send out Nano SIMs all the time now with adaptors to make it a Micro or Normal SIM card size.

Re: Micro Simcard
That's what they told me when I ordered it. You get the tiny sim card (fits in the latest iphone) and an adapter for the conventional iphone/S3 size and one for the larger sim.

Re: Micro Simcard
The tiny one for latest iPhones is the nano
The small one for previous iPhones and the S3 and most other phones is the micro
The largest one still in use these days is the mini-SIM fitting older phones like the S2 or Nokia 3210's.
The "standard" sized SIM is the gigantic credit-card sized cards that most people mistake for the SIM card holder on mini/micro SIMs.

Blimey had forgotten about those. Had one in my old Motorola Startac flip phone.

Re: Micro Simcard
Yeah, they're ancient and haven't been in widespread use for 15 years. Given even in '96 they took up almost the entire width and length of the phone you can see why they moved away from them!

Re: Micro Simcard
Cheers Big Gaz.
In the absence of any 'official' comment on the MotoG thread, it's odd that Virgin are supplying a phone the makers of which state should NOT be used with SIM adapters.
