Might want to have a look through here
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/forum/article.php?a=74
or do a search on the forum for "Router" as it's a topic that comes up time and time again

I use a D-Link DI-604. Just plugs in and works flawlessly. I've also used the Linksys BEFSR41.

Basically you need a router which works with cable broadband and not ADSL.

I use the Belkin F5D7230uk4 and it works straight out of the box:

Re: Routers that work with NTL..

My belkin did the same, worked like a dream, right out of the box, unlike the Linksys, 2 of them I had from amazon, both duff.
The belkin I've got is the wireless Pre-N number F5D8230-4, bought from staples for £99, but also sold by Dixons.

Re: Routers that work with NTL..

The key thing to check is it is not an ASDL Modem and Router, these will not work on NTL or Telewest
