Question Thomson DTI6300-25 HELP!!!!!!!!

In september the digital switchover happens, and i know i have to tr-tune my box, if i re-tune the box will i loose my recorded programs? if so is there anyway i can move the recording to my pc? is there any software i need to do it i understand i will have to connect the DVR,s HDD to my PC thats not a problem.


PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

You shouldn't effect any recordings on a freeview/freesat PVR if you retune..

Ok nice 1 so it should not format the hard drive? Is there anyway of backing up the Hdd?

If you removed it and plugged it into a PC then the files should be standard Mpeg2 or 4 depending on the box..

I know that I have happily rescanned my box (not though a thompson) a few times as the digital switchover has happened and the recordings are safe.

Ok so if.i connect the hdd to my pc i can drag and drop the video file and i wont have to covertthem or recode?

Depends on the original encoding and which codecs you have on your system.. but as long as you have the right codecs the file should play.

Download GSPOT and drag/drop one of the files onto it and the program should tell you which codec you need to play both the audio and video portions of the file.
