Can somone please confirm a few facts re Sky+

I'm thinking of moving to Sky but one thing I am confused about is Sky+ box. Sky+ doesn't have hdmi so then I checked on the Sky website how much the Sky+HD is with no HD sub but there is no option on the site to buy without a sub.

So I did a search to see what my options are. However the search shows some people saying Sky+ box no longer exists and all new '+' boxes will be Sky+HD. However looking on the Sky site, there is still a Sky+ in the shop section and it costs £49. Could someone please confirm that the current Sky+ box doesn't have the hdmi?

Sky+ boxes don't have HDMI, but all boxes supplied now are Sky+HD boxes even if you don't have the HD sub. Suppose they get more people upgrading to HD that way.

As all new customers get the box supplied free as long as they keep it connected to their phone line for a year, I would expect the Sky+ box you saw was there for existing customers to purchase as a replacement.

Thanks for that Jon. I was viewing the site on my phone earlier so I think I got it wrong.

The page I was looking at is:

http://www.sky.com/quickbuy/build

On step 2, the first box is also a Sky+HD but is listed as SKY+.

May be worth ordering online and using quidco for some cash back
