I happened upon this piece of software yesterday, I was so impressed by the demo that I paid for the full version within the hour. I bought the extended Nikon version which cost approx £45 for a three computer licence, cheaper option are available.

Reading the contents list that seems to be a very comprehensive package DW. I will be interested in seeing what effect it will have on your photography.

On a far more mundane level my son has treated me to Photoshop Elements, not had a chance to play yet but looking forward to doing so once everything settles down with my work.

I've learned a few things already and had a couple of misconceptions straightened out, I'm very impressed by it. The three computer licence means I have it on my main computer as well as my little NC10 netbook (which makes it ideal for bedtime reading).

I use Elements 7 for most of my post processing, I found this to be the best book on the subject "Photoshop Elements 7 Book for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby & Matt Kloskowski http://bit.ly/13rAq1

Now that's an idea. That sounds just the thing for curing my life long insomnia.

I have problems reading instruction tomes, I find myself halfway through such books with no recollection of what I have read. I just about cope with Idiot Guides but I am at my happiest experimenting to see what effects I can stumble upon.

Rather than try to achieve the perfect picture, which you know I can enjoy and admire as someone else's work , I am more interested in the design elements, with my photos being a launch pad for my canvases.

What's a camera geek to do. I'm concurrently reading three books at bedtime, 'Digital Photography vol 2' by Scott Kelby, 'Bad Science' by Ben Goldacre
and David Busch's 'Guide to the Nikon D90' as well as the aforementioned '123di' computer software.

Hubby is planning a trip to "The Loop" to get shots of low flying aircraft.

All trips out seem to be planned round the photo opportunities these days.

Get your own camera and look for images that interest you at the same event, there's plenty of 'human interest' (to take one example) photos to be made when people are watching an event. You never know you might get hooked.

agreed - people are the best subjects in my eyes. as I tell people when they ask me about the images I take and create, "A face can tell a thousand stories and hide a thousand more."

I love taking pictures, but was commenting more on the need Hubby has for a photo opportunity overriding the enjoyment of the day.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner

I'm not really into my photography but i'm pretty pleased with how these came out;

The view walking down to Ground Zero - http://i31.tinypic.com/2ef6gr9.jpg

Wall st sign/Traffic lights - http://i27.tinypic.com/sd0703.jpg

The top of the hat does kinda ruin the second one though.

PhotoOppitus is a well known disease of the committed amateur, one I suffer chronically from myself.

Re: CF: Clickers Corner

Hi all,

Is anyone using a decent new(ish) compact they can recommend?
I needed to take a handful of quick shots this morning where my N95 wouldn't cut it (too slow). I used my EOS as usual but it was just overkill & a big DSLR wasn't entirely appropriate for the occasion. So I've realised the time has come for a decent (& a bit more low profile) compact for my inside pocket.
I have a max budget of £100.
I was looking at THIS but I'd rather spend a bit more and have less MP. Who needs 12 on a compact. Video recording capability is a must.
Thanks in advance.
