Would be like to know how long BT have this "exclusive content" for - the viewing numbers will be low.

Maybe it an sign of Sky running out of money (Over pays Football rights?).

Very interesting. I wonder what this will mean for the AMC content on UK Netflix. Looks like BT are leaving VM very far behind. Given they have access to HBO content their customers can buy too, they are looking to try and give Sky a run for their money. BT also have a great negotiating tool for Atlantic int he future too.

Sky will never run out of money as remember Rupert is still casting his beady eyes towards Sky and that's because it is a huge profit generator.

One suspects Virgin have still to play their cards and will have something up their sleeves in the coming months.

It's the only way to challenge Sky though, Den. Gonna be interesting times ahead. BT BB with it's linear TV offering, and Sky's linear TV Now TV box is looking a very good idea. All depends on how much you want full access to on demand content from Sky, I guess.

VM need to pull something out the fire pretty soon. TIVO and free BT sport are pretty awesome, but in 12 months time, I wonder if it will be enough to make me go back.

They will need to soon Den, given BT have decent enough BB, and can offer a pretty decent TV line up - with all the sports channels, it seems to me they need to offer something pretty soon. I guess it all depends what they want from their TV offering.

I wonder if VM will ever make Discovery stable of channels, exclusive to VM. Doesn't the LG owner, own those channels? That being said, I am not sure if it would make sense due to loss of ad revenue.

They better hurry up and play them then as you can only see more and more deals made by the likes of Sky and BT in their attempts to gain subscriptions.

If we refer to history I believe when Sky Atlantic was born VM lost HBO box sets from its on demand so depending on the exclusivity deal maybe Netflix will lose their right to show

Has actually changed since I wrote it, due to Sky's Now TV monthly sports package announcement yesterday.

That was an interesting development.

Sky sports monthly pass is coming to now TV in time for the new football season costing £31.99 a month

http://community.nowtv.com/t5/NOW-TV...t-bau_facebook

Pretty steep price even more than VM!

It's priced in such a way so as not to harm its satellite Sky Sports customers , entry point to Sky Sports on Satellite is £45.50 so you can still get it cheaper than that if you don't need the other pay tv channels.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

Setanta's sale of its non-European channels continues. It has sold Setanta Sports Asia to Discovery.
This comes after the sale of Setanta Sports Australia (to beIN in 2013) and Setanta Sports Africa (to Fox in 2014). Interestingly, there is no mention of re-branding Setanta Sports Asia unlike the other two sales.
I wonder if Discovery could end up buying up the rest of Setanta (Setanta Sports Ireland, NI, Premier Sports and Euro-Asia) to merge them with EuroSport?
