It does have a Record and Remind function which, in my opinion, is better as it will both change the channel and record the program if you are not in front of the TV at the time.
Step 1
Go to the TV Guide and find a show that’s not on yet.
Step 2
Press either Record, Info or OK on your remote.
Step 3
Select Record and Remind. Your TiVo box will tell you when your show is about to start. If you don’t watch your show, it will record it so you can watch later.
