Sky Anytime
Virgin today announced on their Facebook page that Sky Anytime is coming to Virgin Media.
Quote:
We're big movie fans here at Virgin Media, so we're very excited that Sky Anytime is coming to Virgin Media. Keep your eyes out for an update with more details soon.
|
But what is Sky Anytime? I did think it was like VM on demand but must be wrong if were going to be getting it.

But the question is when as Virgin are masters at being very vague with their press releases and dates.

Re: Sky Anytime
Sky Anytime is what Sky called their 'On Demand' service and all it means is that their programming will be getting added to the VM On Demand service. i.e. Sky One, Sky Living programmes being made available on the VM Catch Up TV service.

Care to make a wager Stephen on how long it is before people are complaining it is not ready yet, And as a second wager how long before the first date is posted as a rumour which then becomes FACT because it was heard from the CEO's office cleaners cat third removed

Re: Sky Anytime
While it's good to have a more comprehensive catch up, I'm not too interested by this, to be honest - I series record shows I want to watch and most first run shows I watch on Sky tend to have a repeat you can catch if you miss it.
Of course if it lets us watch Sky Atlantic shows we've missed on On Demand then that would be something worth shouting about

I agree. Especially as the repeats are in HD whereas (presumably) this isn't.

Re: Sky Anytime
I think this is very good news. There is a thread on the VM Help and Support Forum http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/...ia/td-p/623187. Apparently, XL TV subscribers will eventually be getting Sky Anytime +. This is worth it for the on-demand film library alone which will be available to Sky Movies subscribers.

Re: Sky Anytime
Always typical of Virgin saying Sky Anytime is coming but officially that doesn't exist anymore so possibly Virgin has signed up to Anytime but that is why Sky have changed it to SkyGo now.

Doubt Sky will let VM have Sky Atlantic on catchup when VM haven't signed up to carry the linear channel

Re: Sky Anytime
Stand corrected it was just the website address I used to use for anywhere has changed to Go so presumed it had moved to all under the same banner as it was under anywhere before.
As usual its a coming soon though.
I do sometimes think they just do not learn from their previous announcements.
If they had not mentioned it or had said it will be there from next week everyone would be like that's great instead of a month later saying well where is it etc???
