Why would wishlists be locked up? It's just a search feature. I've been using the equivalent functionality on Windows Media Centre for over six years.

Given that, maybe you're inferring that Sky users are simple?; don't stand for it MM! (just kidding guys)
|
Dear PB l would never infer that Sky users are simple because that is quite clearly not the case but l do apoligise if Sky users thought that was what l meant because what l meant is that the vast majority of people just want a basic simple interface which is easy for them to use.

It's patented by TiVo for TV STB's

They would need to create a programme that is demonstrably different to what is patented by TiVo.
FAO if the chain on a bicycle was patented as say "the Chain" you could not make the same thing but call it "the link" it would need to be a totally different product so perhaps move the wheel with a rod type mechanism.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 1
While wishlists are a neat feature it wouldnt be top of my want list with Sky , we're TIVO really shines for me is with its search feature and this is an area Sky need to vastly revamp , I went to the the US nearly two years ago and stayed in a home with DirecTV which had a smart search feature which blew Sky away and I believe they've since updated the feature again , it seems ironic that they also use NDS like Sky.

In which case it's just a licencing issue. There have been some Windows Media Centre's sold as STBs by broadcasters around the world.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 1
Kind of ironic that revenue streams from product placement are higher on the BBC than commercial channels. I don't know how Sky F1 is going, but I have noticed that the BBC doesn't seem to have lost access to the top drivers and team personnel, despite having given up half the broadcasting rights, and that is presumably for the commercial reasons as much as anything.

Australian Grand Prix only got 526,000 viewers on Sky Sports F1. And the Malaysia race average audience of 964,000.
The BBC rebroadcast the race every Monday on the Red Button (I do not know about this on Virgin Media but I did noted it on Freeview Channel 301.)
