BBC ALBA on Virgin TV update:

One of my info guys has told me tonight that BBC ALBA may not launch on Virgin TV an week on Friday (19th of Sep.) but Virgin hope to have it on very soon after but no date is fixed yet. Virgin are also trying to get an deal with the BBC signed before the launch date but that is unlikely to happen.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV

"BBC Alba will launch at 9pm on September 19 and provide a dedicated Gaelic-only service on cable and satellite TV and, pending a BBC Trust decision nearer the time, on digital terrestrial TV service Freeview after analogue switch-off in 2010.

The channel will be available on Sky (168) and FreeSat (110) from 19 September it is not available on Cable at the moment.

Trails promoting the new station will be going out over the next couple of weeks before the launch on 19 September."

From the BBC Info office.

Those whom might like to watch such a channel presumably?

You don't have to read this thread if you find it so pointless, let alone post in it.

It not about only posting what you want to hear, if you do not care do not post other people care.

Sorry I do not understand your point. the question I feel is valid , We can not get channels - not enough room not enough viewers would want them- we are told - but this clearly is a low volume channel. I have no problem with it myself, Just asked the question. What is the likely viewing figures. In Wales S4C was put on instead of Channel 4 . & I dont watch that before you ask.

Good luck to people who watch it. As I am paying for it
I would like to know
a) the cost per viewer
b) Will it cost me as a Virgin customer - If they buy it it costs me in one way or another.

It seems to me that any one asking a question is bullied unless you are a Sycophant.

The post is 'coming soon to Virgin TV'

It might be coming soon to Virgin TV. Hence it is still relavent, regardless if its 'SUPER DUPER UBER CHANNEL HD+1' or a minority channel.

S e faighean a th'annad, as they say.

Sakes.

Fair point but it does not negate the question surely?

No, it doesn't.

But (fortunately) that's not what this topic is about.

I suggest you re-read the 2nd post in this topic (HERE) and then ask your question elsewhere on the forum if you really feel the need!
