Sorry I thought that the jockey wasn't able to race and the horse was scratched.. 
Perhaps under the circumstances he should not have been run.

I like watching the Grand National for the spectacle it is, but over the past 30 years the years with fatalities outnumber the ones without by about 2 to 1.
