Shared Printer Error

I have a laptop running Windows 7 and a Desktop running Windows XP. The desktop is connected to a HP Deskjet F48200 (or something like that). I have set up the workgroup and everything and the printer is shared and I have added the printer to my Windows 7 laptop. I have done this before and it has worked.

However...now I am getting the error: "Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close" on the Desktop when i try to print anything from the laptop.

When i added the printer I was able to print a test page but now I can't print anything because I get that error on the desktop. I haven't changed anything since I added the printer to the laptop and printed the test page so why is this happening ?

Please help, I really am begging you. It's driving me crazy

Re: Shared Printer Error

driver issue by the sounds of it. you'll need to ensure the correct driver is available. try restarting the print spooler too on both machines (though only likely to be needed to be done on the W7 machine). you've likely installed the printer on the XP machine with the XP drivers, which W7 will probably have an issue with. install the printers W7 driver set on the W7 machine, then reconnect to the printer.

Re: Shared Printer Error

Get a printer server and connect that to the printer & a router.
