Neither did they it seems. Profitable business with no suppliers as of a year's time.

As greed continues unabated in the mobile phone market....

All the middle men will be systematically cut out.

Sad news, but every time I walked past the store in Stevenage it was empty, surprised they lasted this long.

1 empty store doesn't mean the company isn't making a lot of money.

Its the fact they will have no suppliers as of next year.

Everytime I pop my head inside of Halfords shops they're always empty. and they still keep opening the next day.

Our local Anne Summers shop never seems to have any customers... so I've heard.

There's a rumour going around BT shareholders that the company wants to buy them.

Re: Phones 4 U go in to administration

The fact that phones4u didn't have any Moto Gs in stock a couple of weeks back makes sense now.

The problem is that phone shops have to work hard to offer something that going direct doesn't. Carphone Warehouse do by offering unlocked phones (usually..), not sure about this lot however.

Re: Phones 4 U go in to administration

i was only in Phones4u on Saturday asking about the new Moto G2 16GB thats due for release.

They have released the 8GB version not the 16GB.

The G2 has wireless AC and a 5" screen.

Re: Phones 4 U go in to administration

They likely do a lot of business online too. If I was going to be declined after a credit check I'd rather face the email than an in store rep. My first contract was through them before I just quit Vodafone and went to 3 directly.

That makes no sense. The company were still trading till yesterday and taking iPhone pre orders. The only reason they have gone in to administration is because all the networks have decided not to renew their contracts. They are still making a lot of money. P4U usually offer unlocked phones too. Was a customer of them for years back when they did their own Vodafone billing, they were called singlepoint.

They also own Dial a Phone

Re: Phones 4 U go in to administration

Yes, saw a lot of people on Twitter last night worrying about their pre orders for the new iPhone. Sucks if they lose their money, although I imagine they would only put a deposit down for now and then pay the balance when they actually collect in store. Not sure though how this works.
