your screen goes blank for about 30 seconds then there is an improvement in the speed. Seems marginally better when I tried it. Was told the new V6 box is due in November not that we trust their reliability of information.
Oh and I saved around £23 per month by threatening to quit.

That's made my box more responsive, at least for now. Thanks!
So all the talk about the problem lies with the hardware is nonsense, its the software. Perhaps VM/Liberty should hire people who actually know how to write code.

I'm sure (happy to be corrected) that SP said that this wouldn't do any good and that it's a myth that goes round the call centres from time to time.

I'll give it a go too if it's improved your box

Isn't the software written by Tivo and VM have plans to evolve onto the Horizon platform anyway, albeit later than sooner.

Oh it's the software for sure. For the record that sequence is a restart of the UI used to be what was suggested when the red ring wouldn't go away. Seems to be the go to "solution" after turning off suggestions.

It's written by TiVo....they seemed to be directly in charge of the last beta trial also.

It may temporarily make the box faster, but I don't recommend it as it's only resetting half of the software. Do a reboot instead to ensure it is all in a consistent state.

Re: Are we back to normal?
I agree, yesterday afternoon was beyond a joke for me.
Excessive delays are one thing, but not being able to access My Shows, set recordings or view the EPG is another.
