I changed Siri to US English so you can choose male or female.

Re: The iPhone thread
I like the new icons, really sharp and clear on retina display. Haven't found anything that doesn't work yet but not tried my iRig midi interface yet. Now if that's broken there will be trouble.

Re: The iPhone thread
Is the GM version the same as what was released yesterday? I installed the GM a few hours before and although everything is fine there is no option to change Siri's gender. Not a massive issue but it makes me wonder if there's anything else I'm missing out on.

The public release is almost always the same build as the GM. I think there was only one time it was slightly different, because of an issue that got discovered in between the two releases.

The canadian female voice seems quite good for Siri.

Won't iTunes install them automatically?
if you open the appstore that usually does it too.
I've only ever bought one app. 69p and I still moan about it

If you restore an iTunes backup, once the settings etc. have been restored iTunes will sync your apps back on.
If you restore an iCloud backup, once the settings etc. have been restored your apps will re-download.
You can also go into the App Store app, then Updates, then Purchased, to see all the apps and re-download directly. But the restore should put them back...
Anything that has previously been downloaded can be downloaded again for free. Apps, Books, Movies, Music.
