I'll say whichever one that suits you. I'm not fussed.
So why ask the question in the first place?

Unlike some when it comes to the subject of beliefs and faith I have no interest in telling anyone what they should or shouldn't say/think. You seem to be deciding what the rules are for what people describe themselves as. I'm not knocking it, if that floats your boat then all the power to you but don't be surprised if people fail to take your views seriously.

re: Is Britain a Christian country?

The UK is still predominately a christian country but religion is on the decline and more and more people are not living their lives in terms of religious teachings or ideology. This question being asked by atheists doesn't make me very comfortable to be honest as modern atheism seems to be represented by religion hostile elements rather then the majority who have made their choice but respect the right of every individual to make whatever choice they feel is right for their life.

In my view there is none of that so I personally do not see this country as Christian in the slightest
I agree, however I don't think the details of the lives of individual members of a society are quite the same thing as the national character itself.

It is certainly true that if things go on as they are, the national character will change to such an extent that it won't be recognisably Christian, but as things stand, with a majority identifying with the religion, with the festivals of that religion still part of the national calendar and with the laws - mostly - arising from that religion, I think it is still just about possible to look at the country itself, as an institution, and describe it as "Christian", at the very least because it fits that defintion better than any other.

But yes, I do agree, at this present time there are not that many individuals in the UK who are embracing the life and teaching of the Christ and attempting to live it out in their lives, day by day.

Why have you included the word true in the statement?
May be, Hugh.
someone who claims to be a Christian. may not be really.
not as you have put it. all real Christians are not really Christians.

Finally. someone who sees it how it is.
me and you could debate all day
error on my part - I meant real, as in your statement 'real Christian'.

What do you think a real Christian is/does?

What are your views - I would be interested in knowing them.

someone who whole heartedly follows his teachings, believes in the sacrifice for our sins and prays through him to God ( the last bit is dependant on if your believe in the trinity or not)

Taking a thread seriously is quite different from taking views seriously.

Going on what you describe as a Christian, nobody is capable of being one seeing as we all fall short of following Jesus' teachings.
