The Premier League has year on year been falling in value since 2016 in real terms. There’s no evidence in this rights auction that we can’t expect more of the same in five years time. The EFL will be on solid ground to argue it’s the additional matches they bring to the table, from lower league clubs, that add value. The big boys are already on 30+ times a season - the market is saturated. I’ve seen it said on another forum, but not crunched the numbers myself, the new contract creates the theoretical possibility of a team having every game televised depending on the Europa League.

The cynic in me could see the Premier League joining up with the EFL for four years in order to get its 3pm games televised then going their own way afterwards.

I think it probably was the plan, however by 2029 there will be so few games played in this slot one wonders whether the solution isn’t just to move every game.

Anyone notice that last night's EPL (Luton v Arsenal) and tonight's (Man Utd v Chelsea) games are not showing in HDR on Virgin, Sky or BT?

They work on Amazon devices - and other HDR assets are still working on all platforms.

The HDR tag was there on all platforms last night and was not working. It doesn't show at all tonight but is working on Firesticks.
