Someone has brought up the issue over on the community forum though there has been no official response as yet.

Same graph here but no speed issue to speedtest.net.

speedtest.net will not be affected if the one you testing with doesnt go through telehouse/ linx.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
paultechy on the community forum posted the following link but I can't understand what it shows me. My local area, Baguley shows some big spikes but nothing seems to mirror the bumps. OK OK I don't know what I am talking about so best ignore me.

I'm not having any speed issues with servers through telehouse/linx, but having the bad latency issue.

Yeah - None of the 11 Portsmouth CMTS's are showing high latency. I suspect the pinging server peers with Virgin via a different edge router and isn't showing the latency issue some of us are having.

Very peculiar - The tests I did earlier to Paris and New York must not go through Telehouse...

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
what is interesting is that two endpoints serviced by the *same* CMTS (sotn13) are different: one affected and one not:
What is interesting is the routing to the same CMTS. Here's the first "good" endpoint:
Quote:

The interesting stuff happens around hop 12+ ... they take different network routes

Not entirely unusual. They're already taking different routes by hop 9. Variability can come down to random load balancing, or the fact that routing is done by destination IP range not destination physical location.
