BBC Red Button - will it arrive before the Olympics?
What do we reckon? If Virgin/BBC fail to bring this to Tivo in time for the Olympics it will deny Tivo viewers the majority of BBC Olympic coverage.

The BBC red button will arrive before the olympics and will be rolled out in April with the 24 streams for the games coming quickly afterwards.

I trust Denphone to have the correct answer.
However I am off to the States when it is on. So I really don`t care. Yes I planned it as such.

Sky to launch 48 new channels for the Olympics on their EPG (which can be recorded too)

Or another way of pushing customers over to SKY. As a boxing fan I would like to be able to record all of the boxing events. At the moment it only looks like SKY can guarantee this.

Re: BBC Red Button - will it arrive before the Olympics?
Yes, 24 streams of each channel in both HD and SD = 48 channels that will appear on the EPG. No spin, just facts. Or do VM not include all their +1 channels when giving a total channel count
Which all can be recorded, unlike the VM TiVo App which is all VM have announced who have so far left out their non-TiVo userbase.

Virgin must offer the exact same service to all of it's customers, the same as SKY. Virgin can't just offer these streams to TiVo customers.

Do you mean V+ and VHD? I'd be interested to know that too. Do Virgin have the capacity to launch 24 HD channels and 24 SD channels within the next 3 months, outwith a TiVo app?

The PR states 24. It was you that posted 48. It's not; it's 24.

Re: BBC Red Button - will it arrive before the Olympics?
Seeing the BBC have released info today, and SKY have made a press release I'd imagine Virgin will follow suit either today or tomorrow with a statement to clarify their position.
Key questions to I'd like to see Virgin clarify to their customers in a statement, based on SKY’s press release:
SKY Say: “More than 10 million Sky homes will be able to watch the 2012 London Olympics through two dozen brand new BBC channels”
To Virgin: Will you be making all of these new channels available to your 4 million TV customers, without upgrading to TiVo?
SKY Say: “Sky homes will be able to view the channels via the Sky EPG, Sky+ homes will be able to record the coverage to watch at a time that suits them”
To Virgin: Will Virgin customers with V+ or TiVO be able to record the coverage?
SKY Say: “As with the rest of the HD channels on the Sky platform, the new channels will be broadcast in 1080i and in wide-screen to enhance the viewing experience.”
To Virgin: Will your HD coverage be broadcast in 1080i?
SKY Say: “The Sky+ Remote Record option also allows customers to set their Sky+ or Sky+HD box to record from mobile devices or the web.”
To Virgin: Will TiVo customers be able to remote record?
SKY Say: “The channels are free-to-air and available to any Sky home, and do not require a subscription.
To Virgin: If the channels do launch separately from TivO, will customers on the M package be able to access the channels?
