Abandoned Cat
Hi my mate lives next door to a neighbour who have moved out and left there cat. From what 1 of the neighbours told my mate is that they don't want it no more so that's why they left it. The cat keeps coming in my mates garden crying. Is there any place they can ring to take it in?

Re: Abandoned Cat
Point them to a no kill animal shelter. The RSPCA I wouldn't trust.

Re: Abandoned Cat
The RSPCA really are a waste of space. they only do anything about animals if there's a camera crew watching or something.
any other time they're just not interested in what the whole point of the 'charity' is supposed to be about.
but do keep donating money to them though. they need it.

Helps if there is a border line care in the community case owner for them to bully and "arrest" in front of the cameras to, glad they were to busy anyway, in days gone by it'd already be dead if they had taken it in.

Re: Abandoned Cat
If nobody will take it he could at least give it some food and a box with some blankets in (if he's not keen on letting it into his house).

Re: Abandoned Cat
Can he not take it in?
It would be a good stress relief after a hard days work, sitting down stroking it.

Re: Abandoned Cat
2 strays (queen and her female kitten) have been hanging around our garden for a few days. The local vet wants £6 +VAT to check for microchips.
DO NOT FEED STRAYS! No matter how their cries melt your heart! They will adopt you!
As did next doors' cat.....

Re: Abandoned Cat
There will surely be a no-kill shelter somewhere in the area. Please find it. That poor cat does not deserve to die for its owners' callousness. Why didn't they take it to a shelter if they didn't want it?
Is there a local PDSA? They'll help you find a shelter, surely, even though the cat isn't ill.
If the cat's left long enough, it'll go feral - and has it been neutered/spayed? If not, it'll add to the stray problem. Spaying/neutering doesn't cost that much.
