Wonder if the BBC will broadcast FA Cup games in 4k?
How about MOTD?

Totally agree mate, but I don't think we'll have access to UHD Sky Movies or UHD box sets until a new deal is signed with Sky

Perhaps we will start to see some films in UHD appearing on Virgin Movies?

I know. I can't wait to get some subscription based dramas and films in UHD. The BBC will make a real difference if it starts to schedule or create on demand material on a regular basis as there will be no extra charges for that. I expect ITV will lag behind, but Channel 4 might rise to the occasion after the BBC get going amongst the terrestrials.

Re: UHD on Virgin Media
How much server space and at at what cost would the Beeb need to switch over to on demand UHD @ 40Mbps?
I assume it could be done lower, but would they?

Re: UHD on Virgin Media
Box just showed tennis UHD without HLG. Bug? Wondered why it was so bright.
TV app worked fine and HLG brightness was bang on and much better.

I am expecting more UHD content later this year if all goes well, so keep your fingers crossed. Hopefully, (from my perspective at least) it's not just sport this time around. I have no idea which channels are involved in the current negotiations.

Well where is it then - no sign of it.

You are so impatient! Have you ever had any responsibility for implementing new technology? We need to be grown up about this.

Re: UHD on Virgin Media
A little more information here on Insight, which should launch soon in UHD on Virgin Media. No dates yet, I'm afraid. The new channel will be available through the on demand system. Hopefully, Virgin will provide this content free with specified packs, but maybe that is expecting too much!
