21 is the answer to the first question and the answer to the second question is l have the old Youtube app.

Are these apps just ads for the tv channels?

The apps need to improve and I'm sure they will however the functionality and speed of the box is excellent considering the amount of graphics and data it's handling , my parents box has only needed a reboot once since install and that was after an update so they seem to have sorted most of the stability issues.

I thinks they have that figured. Look at Muppet Christmas Carol and they have kids, well frogs and pigs anyway. Marvels of the animal kingdom keeping the genes separate like that.
