Who said YOU did gob off about your history? I said SOME.
What is so important about a number? it proves nothing as you would know
Lets just say I signed up in 1978, think you can work it out from that!

another 600,000 dead civilians. Blair & Bush should go on trial in the Hague. Same way we do to people that we don't like and think are terrorists, bet there's a fair few Iraqi's who feel the same way about B&B.

Revenge for bush against "that man who tried to kill my daddy". Very little else except pain and misery for millions, bush and bliar are lucky they don't share the same botched, lynch mob fate.

Re: Saddam Hussein Executed
I don't want to get involved in stupid argument regarding a person who was guilty of executing his OWN people.
Saddam Hussein, killed and maimed his own people. So therefore he was guilty of multiple murder. And was found guilty by a legal Court and sentenced to death.
And members are calling for Bush and Blair, to be tried. For what ?
They joined foces to bring down a dictator. And when he was caught, NOT in a house, NOT in the street. NOT in one of his mansion.
He was found in a DUGOUT, HIDDEN so that he couldn't be found. Put on trial. Found guilty. And sentenced to death.
When this happened, HIS OWN people jumped with jo. Surely, that tells you something.
ALL Countries, have a duty to protect those people across the globe, who cannot defend themselves.
In regards to Hitler, he was killed by one of his own.

Um... let me think seeing as you aren't....
Engaging in a War on the belief that Saddam Hussein, held Weapons of Mass Destruction. Which was later revealed to be a massive lie, the only real reason was to bring regime change, thus, the war was considered an illegal act.

Please, what sort of legal, legitimate court sentences someone to be dragged into a cellar in the middle of the night to a baying, ridiculing crowd to be hung, sounds more like a lynch mob to me and perhaps he did deserve all he got but let's not try and dress it up and try and legitimise it, the way it was done was how he'd have done things, are we or our new found allies no better than that?
Also protecting the Iraqi people was way down the list of rationales for war and was only wheeled out once all the other reasons, wmds, harbouring terrorists, thinking up 9 11 etc etc etc turned out to be bs and that might have been reasonable if he was still a threat to his people or neighbours but guess what he wasn't, had we acted earlier when he was massacring people and starting wars instead of selling him weapons I'd have supported it but all those people who died since gulf war 2 for what, so an old man could be thrown to a lynch mob, so bliar could lord it up on the international stage and pocket fortunes on the back of it or so one man could have a bit of revenge and sod the consequences

Re: Saddam Hussein Executed
Well in fairness saddam did have chemical and biological weapons and we knew he did as we sold him a good amount of them while we were keeping him on side in the seventies and eighties. Yes he deserved his fate but bush and blair both got off scot free for their lying to legislative bodies and creation of documents they knew were full of bs they initiated an illegal war and are directly responsible for all fatalities that occurred during that war and it's aftermath.
They highlighted the utter hypocrisy and badly thought out planning of western foreign policy with Iraq and that has still not been fixed we're still screwing up massively supposedly doing the right thing while doing nothing but destabilising various nations and creating thousands more recruits for the likes of isis.

Re: Saddam Hussein Executed
I don't criticise Blair for bringing down Saddam Hussein. He was a clear and present danger. What I blame him and Bush for is not having a proper plan in place for managing the peace and bringing proper democracy and stability to the country.
Had they done this and worked quickly to fix the crumbling infrastructure of the country, Iraqi citizens would be singing our praises by now.

Re: Saddam Hussein Executed
Saddam wasn't a clear and present danger to anyone outside his own borders. The policy of containing him after Gulf War 1 worked. Gulf War 2 was a hillbilly blood feud initiated by George Bush Jr, who believed he had to tidy up his father's unfinished business. The result of going out to "get" Saddam (and the plan had no more finesse than that) has made the entire Middle East an extremely dangerous place for us as well as those that live there. George Bush is directly responsible for this, aided and abetted by the man who gave him a moral figleaf, namely a certain Anthony Charles Lynton Blair, former prime minister of this parish.
