Re: call plan
It has inbuilt FM radio as standard which is free to use as with most modern handsets and I see no reason why you cannot download the DAB digital radio app as it will access the radio for free as well and has no impact on your phone contract in any way.
Click the link and read the technical stuff and you will see FM radio listed.

Re: call plan
No you can't as the Desire doesn't have the hardware in it to receive DAB

There you go Andrew so you will just have to use the inbuilt radio which is free to use.

Re: call plan
Why give Virgin £20.00 a month for that when you can get better from Giffgaff for a tenner.

A bit of clarity would help as to what on earth you are on about because this is a thread about getting FM radio on a HTC Desire.

Re: call plan
But I assume no free phone?
Virgin offer their customers exactly the same for £10.21 a month if you get SIMO tariff

Re: call plan
Fair enough. Glad you are happy with your choice of provider. As I am with mine
So can GiffGaff allow a Desire to recieve DAB radio, as that was what this thread was about?

I take that you did not read the small print over the Unlimited Data offer then.

Free Mobile Internet:
You lucky giffgaff pioneers can even enjoy free UK mobile Internet up to the 28 FEB 2011. After that date, mobile Internet will be charged at 50p a day (if you use less than 2.5MB/day you'll pay less than 50p and if you go over 30MB you'll be charged extra at 20p/MB). But all our goodybags that include unlimited Internet will continue including unlimited Internet after the 28 FEB 2011.

Yes I have seen that but I am wondering how free it is as they have no more information on the site over the free data apart from saying its free in a goodybag, I would have expected a bit more information so maybe I am just a bit to suspicious.

Re: call plan
You can probably download an internet radio app, which will use your internet quota.
Alternatively http://www.yourmuze.fm/welcome web app (used to be called Moodio.fm) which compresses streams further, to a format supported by many phones.
