Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I can agree with that, applied for a load of voluntary placements but never hear anything back. I wonder if that work placement store is saying something when people call for a reference or to find out why my Christmas temp contract was never made permanent.

I know things are seasonable but no fresh parsnips in the stores.

Well it's absolutely hissing down here, not only that we have a funeral to go to today (next door neighbour).

Month's worth of rain on way here for this afternoon. Apparantly.

The current trend for resealable bags (pasta, etc) in our shops, the type of bags that tear when you try to open them , so you wouldn't be able to reseal them anyway!

Drives me nuts but I usually transfer dried goods like that to sealed jars anyway. Most of mine came curtesy of Douwe Egberts coffee. Expensive but very nice reusable jars with glass stoppers makes it worth while.
I'll add peel off coverings on pre-packed meats and bacon etc that don't peel. They also seem to be using a new kind of plastic on some that stretches rather than tearing or peeling. Horrid.
I don't thnk they ever test out packaging on real people.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Patient transport here has been privatised - and the first time I book on the new system the haven't even pitched up, when I phoned them they say nothing is booked - despite calling Wednesday to tell me to be ready by noon today.

....of course this means three very heavy full days in hospital next week now.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Your post makes me wonder dilli how many hospital appointments are missed on a monthly basis, due to absolutely no fault of the patient. All because of the patient transport lets them down and it's not only the patients time being wasted but also the Doctors/Specialists.
Good luck for next weeks hospital appointments.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
That sucks dilli. If I lived nearer and could drive, I'd gladly give up a morning/afternoon/day and take you to your hospital appointments.

Sorry to hear about your transport difficulties dilli and l do hope your transport is sorted out soon as this is the last thing you want given your serious ongoing medical conditions.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Yes the clinic were indeed going to put me down as a 'did not attend' - and strike me off the transplant process completely.
But I straightened it out.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I'm so sorry that your transport let you down and I'm delighted that the hospital realizes that it was out with your control that you missed your appointment. Let's hope and pray all goes to plan next week.
