I believe the urban fox hunter's weapon of choice is a cricket bat.

As it was The Sun it could have been for many reasons.

For those old enough to remember it, I find it helps if you imagine Sun articles being read aloud in the voice they used to give Kelvin McKenzie on Spitting Image.

shotguns that's the answer to the dog problem -and i can think of a few choice punishments for selfish dog owners who allow their dogs to run wild and crap on every square inch of grass in the uk

Don't forget the cat owners. I think cat owners should be made to walk their pets on a leash (rather than let them roam the neighbours' gardens) and clean up after them, just like dog owners.

There are no laws regarding cats and fouling. A cat holds a unique position in law in that the owner of the cat is not held to be responsible for the consequences of any trespass by the cat. It is an offence to put down poison or set snares for a cat.

You ever tried that?Anyway MOST cats do bury their dirt.I find that the really foul smelling unburied turds actually belong to the local foxes.Another reason not to pigging encourage them into one's garden by feeding them..Drives me wild when my neighbours do this..

Oh, great. So if you're lucky and your neighbour's cat tries to bury it you find a half-buried turd in your upturned flower beds. That must make it alright then...
Sorry, but I see no reason why people should be allowed to have their pets soil other people's gardens. Dogs or cats, doesn't matter.

We all have to live alongside our neighbours and there are worse things to contend with than cats possibly ,maybe fouling your garden..Feeding foxes and badgers so they haunt your bins and get into your rubbish.Loud parties for hours when your partner is on shift work,Car alarms and house alarms and constant DIY with the largest loudest power tools in the world.Cutting the grass/DIY before 9 am on a Sunday morning..Noisy drunken teenagers hanging about the street until all hours
Oh yes I really cannot get bummed about a bit of cat poo that can be dug into the garden as a bit of compost. There are worse behaviours from one's neighbours to contend with.

Actually, I'm a very laid back person
The main annoyance where I live at present is the fact that my neighbours have 3 dogs that go on a barking frenzy at random moments during the day or night. I do not enjoy being woken up by 3 barking dogs next door.
These dogs will also on occasion find a way through the fence/hedge and crap on my lawn until my neighbour plugs the hole in the fence. I'm fine with this. The neighbours pick up any poo they spot in my garden, and fix any holes in the fence/hedge as they develop. A slight annoyance, but no problem.
The neighbours on the other side have cats. For some reason, they don't seem to use my garden as a toilet. I guess I'm lucky this time around.
In the past however, I've had the discomfort of living in a house that had a garden that seemed to function as a communal toilet for several neighbourhood cats. I couldn't have a meal in the garden because of the flies that were attracted to the copious amounts of cat dung dropped in it. It was no fun at all, and really made me wonder why it is somehow considered acceptable to allow your pet cat to crap wherever it likes when people get fined for not picking up after their dog. It really doesn't make much sense to me.

I do sympathise ,but there isn't much you can do about the cats ,ultimately cats ,unless kept in the house all the time are wild animals ,dogs however are a different story ,just remember it's not the dogs fault so shoot the neigbour

Re: Bring Back Fox Hunting
Cat owners will get all sniffy and tell you that cats always bury their doodoo. Someone forgot to tell that to the cat that used to dump all over the patio at our first house.
We got through a fortune trying different cat deterrents until we found one that worked.
