I've been a non smoker before but like an idiot I had one ( hated it ), then another and another; you get what I'm saying.
Thanks for this thread and all who have posted, if I'm honest it was this thread that reminded me how much smoking sucks and how much better I am as a non smoker.

Good man!! Stick with it - I've made the exact same mistake in the past.
If I've gotten this far then I'm pretty sure you can too.
One full month today - woo hoo!!!

Re: Stopping smoking support.
This thread has given me the boost that I need(ed) to start thinking about giving up. Been smoking for nearly a year now, for someone my age I know how unhealthy that is.
I've signed up to the Smokefree United service, gonna sign up to the Quitnet site now - and I've also got an appointment at the stop smoking clinic tomorrow morning.
Here goes nothing!

Re: Stopping smoking support.
Official figures just in!
Your Quit Date is:Monday, September 14, 2009 at 12:00:00 AM
Time Smoke-Free:28 days, 6 hours, 47 minutes and 5 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked:1273
Lifetime Saved:9 days, 17 hours
Money Saved:£378.00
Lemony - welcome aboard!! Take my advice, quit now while you have a good chance to break it. Several years down the line when it really has a grip on you it will only get harder & harder.
Your Bob Marley quote sig couldn't be more apt.

Re: Stopping smoking support.
Very well done both of you.
I`m quitting in January.
Made the decision tonight.
January the second will be me smoke free.
Thank you both for your input, it`s made me even more determined.

You can beat the habit jules.
I beat Cancer and now i`m going to beat this addiction to nicotine. Nicotine will be harder believe me.
Apparently its more addictive than Heroin so i`m told.

You beat cancer then you can beat this addiction hands down.
Just remember now that you have set a date that the is no need to smoke a few extra because you are stopping, wean your self off slowly between now and 2/01/2010 and it will be so much easier to quit.
