That's exactly how I felt.
But having made up my mind that when I awoke the following morning I would thereafter be a non-smoker I gave it a go, cold turkey.
I found it to be surprisingly easy and have not smoked since. It's been a good few years now.
The trick is, wanting to quit. If you don't really want to then you won't.
Once you really want to quit you will feel brave enough to try and you will succeed.

You've hit the nail on the head there Mick - if its not your choice to quit, you won't!
Quitting is easy once you have the motivation, its staying quit thats the challenge

Jules, the thing is that you are brave enough to do it - you just haven't done it, yet.
Bud, you old slaphead, welcome aboard. Fingers crossed and keep working towards that Jan 02 date - start cutting down now.

Doc, latest figures just in...
Hello MrAngryGB!
Your Quit Date is: Monday, September 14, 2009 at 12:00:00 AM Time Smoke-Free: 33 days, 7 hours, 3 minutes and 48 seconds Cigarettes NOT smoked: 1498
Lifetime Saved: 11 days, 10 hours
Money Saved: £445.50
It's funny but, thus far, whilst I notice other people smoking I haven't yet had the urge to walk behind a smoker to do the old smokestream leech off him / her.
