Re: VIP Plus Sim
It's unlimited but if you use more than 3.5GB your speed is capped at I think 384kbps

They are using a loophole in the law because they are.only capping and not stopping they can still class it as unlimited

No they are not.
There is no law for there to be a loophole in.
3.5GB does not class as unlimited under any law.

You can download more than 3.5gb, so it's unlimited downloads, but the speed is limited after 3.5gb

Be careful as i think with mobiles you get 14 days to cancel not the usual virgin 30 days satisfaction guarantee.
I have just taken out a VM mobile contract and i am sure it said 14 day returns policy applies for mobiles.

It isn't unlimited downloads, because your service is limited based on how much you download.
There's regulation on what can be called "unlimited" in the fixed broadband market, those rules do not apply to mobile.
As far as fixed line is concerned, such a speed limit would not qualify as "unlimited". Unlimited does not allow significant speed restrictions and it's already been shown a 40% reduction falls foul of the rules so an up to 99% reduction such as this certainly would too. But because the rules do not apply to mobile then they can call it whatever they like. Unlimited cows for all I care. If you have a problem with the "false advertising" go complain to the ASA - that's what they're there for.
