Virgin Alactel 303 - HELP!

Has anyone had to replace a broken antenna on one?

I have the spare part
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Aeri...QQcmdZViewItem
Only place I found it.

But the white bit of the old one is still stuck in the phone - not sure if it should pull or twist out, or if the back needs to be removed, or which way the wire bit of the new one should face.

I wish I'd just got a cheap new phone instead, would have been less trouble, but the rest of the phone is ok (and connects), protected by a soft case when it fell.
