Thanks folks and you are quite right. However I still have marks - insignificant bumps and bruises but almost a week later I find I have a chipped scapula and a sprained knee.

I never enjoyed going to work in the dark/and or, out of normal woking hours in an isolated area. It seems that security can allow non-pass persons to roam the building free.

I'll heal and go and do something else.
A course of ECDL seems to appeal at the moment. Hey - I'll get another certificate!

This must have been awful for you. I hope you are feeling better. It will take a while to get over this situation. Hope you get something sorted out. not much of a security.

I'm feeling a lot better than this time last week!

The attacker turned out to be an ex-empolyee who had not handed his digital pass in. The pass access details had not been deleted. His movements through doors were logged. The security guard in reception did not know he is an EX-employee and didn't know that anything was wrong.
More than 1 wrist will be slapped I think.

Ironically, a good friend who is very experienced in Aikido has been teaching me moves, for such an incident, for just over a year. He often said that I "... wouldn't last 2 minutes".
He was right

Good, can't believe an ex employee was allowed to walk into the building. You would think at the very minimum if the pass wasn't taken back the security staff would have been told to stop him entering.

My moan is I think that within the next 2 to 3 months I will be having my second surgery in my life. A very personal problem apparently only has one course of treatment. No more pork products for me after that operation. (A hint without actually going too far I hope. Those who are good at cryptic clues will get what I mean)
