Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
That sucks, I had an almost similar thing at the weekend. I hadn't shut the freezer door properly so everything in it got completely ruined and I had to spend the whole of Sunday going through the drawer throwing out soggy food.

Went to hospital today only to find my now very-swollen toe was so large I couldn't wear my trainers. The doctors told me not only was my toe highly infected but the infection was spreading up my foot.
They sliced the toe open to clear the infection (which was the worst pain I'd ever felt. Blood and pus everywhere), I now have to take it easy for the next few days and hope the antibiotics kick in soon....

Be glad you don't know about birth pain
Take all the advice going - I visited a poor soul for 11 weeks in hospital because he had to lose a big toe from an ingrowing toenail. He was completely out of things so I mostly chattered to his wife. I learned that the toe is so important to being steadily mobile.
Take care of it
If it's THAT swollen you could come and break my new walking boots in for me

Yes l have already made that mistake wearing the fleece this morning but tomorrow it will be the quilted jacket on first thing.

Stupid names people call their kids.
Somebody I know are to call their new son (due anyday) Thaddaeus.
(I had to google http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jude_the_Apostle)
I mean WTF, poor sod.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
It could be they are a religious couple and so the name means something to them. My mum's a Catholic so I was named after 2 of the Gospels (well not quite, but almost) in Mark Jonathan, but now I'm 27 I am seriously thinking of changing my name by Deed Poll.
Giving their child a name that probably means something to them in their religion is far better than calling them Apple or some of these other stupid names that celeb mums give their kids. I mean, who can forget Paula Yates and her child Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof. I mean, what a stupid name.

Starting to worry about the op on Wednesday, and stressed out at home with stuff. (not Natalie)
I hate it as it me being weak.
Still it'll be sorted this week one way or the other.

I wish I could make the worry about the operation go away dilli, it's natural to feel apprehension when something is going to happen that you can't control, but you know we are all here for you.
I have a couple of hospital sessions which will involve a fair few needles this week which I really, really don't want to have to deal with so, if you keep your fingers crossed for me, I promise to do the same for you and together we will both get this week over and done with.
Oh and by the way don't go saying being worried makes you weak. You are one of the strongest people it has ever been my pleasure to have come across. All your worry shows is that you are human and not ashamed to admit you aren't Superman.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
Cheers - I'm trying to fix my kindle for tomorrow now so I can sit and listen to a couple of books while waiting.
But I think the battery is shot, it's only lasting a day with the wifi turned off.
I've just reformatted it so we shall wee.

My Kindle goes with me to my hospital appointments as well.
I have had a few occasions when it just hangs on an orange light no matter how long I charge it, or it shows a green light too quickly to be fully charged, so I am an old hand at restarting the dang thing to get it to behave.
Every time I do it I still hold my breath thinking it will have lost all my books. I hate how it restarts with a seemingly empty memory and you have to wait for it to repopulate all the collections but, fingers crossed, Restarting it does cure the problems for me and I still have the Insurance Policy to fall back on.
