cable modem to draytek 2850

cable modem to draytek 2850

we have a virgin cable modem connection
works fine connected to one computer
can anyone tell me exactly how to connect and set up the draytek 2850Vn router to this service?

I'm not really sure, but looking at the Draytek product information I think you would connect the cable modem ethernet port to the fourth gigabit LAN port. Power off the modem before you connect as the modem won't know it has to speak to a different device.

No doubt there are configuration settings in the Draytek admin controls (access from a web browser on a computer that is connected to one of the other LAN gigabit ports). I think you are going to need to get out the Draytek manual to read up in detail on the config settings you need in the router.

thanks, good old switching off and on helped
router now says it is connected but windows network display just shows connection to the network not the outside world
draytek sites say a lot about bt infinity but little about cable

Some serious piece of kit, does both DSL and ADSL.
I just put into Google draytek 2850 user guide.
