Well my partner and l went to Exeter today to support a member of our wider family who went to the Specialist Gender Identity Clinic as this is the start of a long road for him as he goes through a long transition period.

It great that he has your support den. It will mean so much to him in the journey ahead of him to have someone to talk to.

Well l think its very important to support family members through their difficult times as they were there for us through our difficult moments in life and there have been quite a few especially in our lifetime so far.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
I agree den to a certain extent, if it is a family member who you have time for. Sadly, in my family there a couple who I would cross the road to avoid then speak to them.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Great news Dilli - up and at 'em!!
My happy thought is helping Osem Jnr #2 indulge his passion for food (no idea where that came from... honestly!... ) by making sausage and bacon rolls. He helped me roll some puff pastry then lay out some frankfurters and some rashers of smoked bacon which he carefully put on top. It was as if he knew what to do and where to put things without my help. As I formed the long rolls, he was watching intently and then happily took the chef's knife and chopped them into equal sized pieces ready for the baking tray. His face as I served them up to him later on was a sight to behold - he can't speak much but he's very good at asking for 'more please'...
The wife and I often joke about him being Andy and Lou character who is perfectly able but persists in the pretence that he's helpless so that his carers do virtually everything for him. That thought always makes us laugh (and feel a little sad).
