Can I port my email address(es) ?
I'm moving house and whilst I have been delighted (generally) with Virgin Media / NTL's service for the last 10 years they don't do a cable out to my new house so I have cancelled.
Can I port my email address ? (Probably not, but worth a try)
or, can I forward my emails (like I can my physical emails) ?
Thanks in advance,
DBo.

Your e-mail address is tied to your account, once your account closes then your e-mail address will stop working
You will need to inform everyone of a new address

Welcome to the site,
Sometimes you can port them I think it depends on the area you are moving to/from and if you keep VM. One of the friendly VM staffers will probably give you a better answer soon. In the mean time I've moved your post to the correct forum for better visibility

Thanks. I suspect as I have closed my VM account then I am in for a LARGE amount of updating every single instance of where my multiple identities were. I have, however, learnt my lesson and now I'm using a 'hotmail' type account.

For the exact same reason I use a domain email.. It's personal and unlike hotmail won't be hacked every couple of months and you can now even use a domain email through google

Sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure what you mean by "domain email"?

Re: Can I port my email address(es) ?
TnX Graham..
I've owned my personal domain for over 10 years and it's followed me through NTL/Tiscali/Force9/AOL/Tesco/Demon/Orange and now with VM Business
Cost is just the domain renewal a year (currently 15$ with a good hoster for my .COM) and I now do all my emails through google apps (but can change that to any other hoster without loosing any email addresses)

How do you use google apps?
I am thinking about moving to virgin cable, currently I am with PlusNet which host my Domain name and e-mail for me.
I am looking for a company that can do UK Email Hosting which is reliable for my Domain, which is cheap up to £15.
Only need to use the Email Hosting side within outlook 2010 (IMAP, POP3, SMTP) and if I could use Webmail access as well that would be great.
Thanks
Simon
