Virgin Blackberry Offer in Iphone

Not sure who has seen it, but a blackberry curve with unlimited web for £10 month.

Wondered if it's o.k. to take up offer, sell Blackberry and use sim in my Iphone.

Would this work?

Thanks..

Re: Virgin Blackberry Offer in Iphone

Potentially not. I've never had a BB, but the BB service is different from the simple APN data that most smartphones (inc the iPony) use. I believe even the browser data passes through the BB servers as it's compressed by RIM to be more efficient.

Or take the offer, use the Blackberry and sell your iPhone... problem solved!

It doesn't. I have the Blackberry offer and i'm using the sim in another phone perfectly fine.

Re: Virgin Blackberry Offer in Iphone

You don't have to mess around with it anymore

Virgin now do a much better £10 SIM only option:

http://shop.virginmedia.com/existing...sim-offer.html

200 Mins, 3000 texts and 1Gb internet

This is a really good deal but is it suitable for an iPhone?

Don't see why not. Only slight issue would be if you have an iPhone 4. As it uses a smaller SIM you would have to cut the one Virgin supply

The Tesco deal is £15 iPhone SIM Only Tariff (250 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB data). Doesn't seem as good as Virgin.

Re: Virgin Blackberry Offer in Iphone

I`m on one called giffgaff which runs on the O2 network, its fairly new only been running about a year. No contracts, just payg £10 per month gets me 250 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet.
http://giffgaff.com/
Had no problems with it yet. They have no call centres to ring, its all done online and the members answer all questions in the forums.

I don't understand the difference between an iphone tarrif and a normal tarrif with data. Is it that you don't get free wifi on BT Openzone etc and/or not all iphone functions will work unless you're on an iphone tarrif?

Re: Virgin Blackberry Offer in Iphone

slightly off topic but -

URGENT: Are Virgin Mobile having problems because firstly:

Phoned Virgin Mobile about the £10 per month deal for the Blackberry Curve 8520 (Exclusive to Virgin Media customers - me). Got all my details through. Said they was all ok then put me on hold and said I didnt pass the credit checks so I thought it must be my card as Im on Adapt account not current.

Next...

Mum registered her details through the phone to in the same way but after all the confirmations her card didnt pass the credit checks either. And Im like thats odd because she pays the Virgin Media bill on it. She then tried her other bank card and same again.

So then,

We thought we would try one final time with my dads card online and the same again but went through the credit checks and said congratulations order confirmed etc. Then I got the confirmation email and another email saying could not process payment again.

This is odd 4 of our very much active cards are being rejected ... WHY! Has anyone else had this problem before. and/or can guide us through it because Im baffled with whats gone on.

Thanks.
