Re: World Cup road to 2014
Right, who's going to be the first to say "I genuinely believe England are in with a chance of winning it this time"??

Re: World Cup road to 2014
Every team that gets through has a chance of winning, it's just that some teams have a better chance than others...
I don't hear many real England fans saying we can realistically win it. What I do hear is the usual suspect journalists and commentators postulating ad nauseam about us winning it every time we play a good game against a decent team (which isn't very often) and then doing the complete opposite when we lose or play poorly. Bigging up the national team then knocking them down is a media thing designed to fill their pages and airtime. Most rational fans are, I'm sure, only too aware that England are a poor team at worst and a good team at best. Good teams don't tend to win much and I don't see that ever changing for England unless we have a drastic rethink about the way we run and prioritise football in the UK. I believe that horse has bolted and the stable door has been firmly locked by the Premier League however...

Re: World Cup road to 2014
Theo was poor and seeing Jack play at the moment is painful. Stupid Wenger burning players out!
I stayed up last night to watch Brazil v Portugal. Ronaldo was out for Portugal but they put up a little fight. Bruno Alves is a dirty player! Neymars still class and Bernard a player I wanted at Arsenal is proving to be advancing as people expect, a real little menace. Possible problems for Real Madrid, Coentrao went off injured and Marcelo is already out so Bale could have to play LB this week for club lol cue the 100m euros for a left back headlines
Ze Germans won Lloris had a pretty bad game for France. And Spain were poor against a decent Chile side. Oh and Paraguay 2-5 Argentina

Re: World Cup road to 2014
Big game next and Walker got himself suspended, well done. Funny how depth is now showing up. I would have liked to see Barkley feature tonight.
